MRS. ALLENDER IS DEAD TOD AY
Dies of Flu Six Weeks After Husband Is Killed In Auto Accident

Mrs. T. B. ALLENDER died this morning at 11 o'clock after a week's illness. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the ALLENDER home, 403 West Broadway, Dr. C. L. Tennant officiating.

Although Mrs. ALLENDER has been in failing health for some time, relatives have noticed a breakdown since her husband's death, just six weeks ago, when he was killed in an automobile accident. Last Tuesday, she became quite ill with influenza and medical aid could not bring about her recovery.

Laura HAISTON was born at Brighton, February 2, 1870, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter HAISTON, and has been a resident of this county practically all of her life.

She is survived by two children, Harry and Mrs. Otto ANDERSON of Fairfield, and the following brothers and sisters, Charles HAISTON of Fairfield, Mrs. J. E. McDANIEL of Des Moines, Mrs. Fred BREE of Kankakee, Ill., and Mrs. Blanche PETERSON of San Diego, Calif.

FUNERAL RITES FOR MRS. ALLENDER TODAY

Obsequies for Mrs. T. B. ALLENDER, who died Monday morning, were held at the ALLENDER home on West Broadway this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. W. C. Monroe officiating.

Mrs. C. M. Graham sang, and C. H. Cage, Milt Horn, M. S. Parnell, R. T. McClain and J. E. McDANIEL served as pall bearers.

Deaths

… ALLENDER, Mrs. T. B.--Died at her home on West Broadway Monday, March 27, following a week's serious illness with the flu, at the age of fifty-two years.

Mrs. ALLENDER's health had not been good for a long time, particularly since the tragic death of her husband, Thomas B. ALLENDER, in an automobile accident six weeks ago. A week ago she suffered an attack of the flu, which resulted in her death Monday.

Mrs. ALLENDER was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter HAISTON, and she was born at Brighton in 1870. She had been a resident of this county all of her life. She leaves two children, Harry and Mrs. Otto ANDERSON, both of Fairfield; one brother, Charles HAISTON, of Fairfield; and three married sisters.

Funeral services were conducted at the home Wednesday afternoon, by Rev. C. L. Tennant.

Note: Laura was married three times, first to Charles WALKER, by whom she had Harry and Wilma (Mrs. Otto ANDERSON); second, to William L. DONNER in 1900; third, in 1913 to Thomas B. ALLENDER. She is buried on the HAISTON family lot in Evergreen Cemetery, Lot SDiv.1-017. An engraving error on her gravestone gives her year of birth as 1871; she was born in 1870.
