George ALLEN of near Ottumwa, who until several years ago, resided on a farm about 2 miles northeast of the city, suffered a stroke of paralysis this morning and is in a serious condition.

Died At His Home Near Ottumwa Early Today Following StrokeGeorge ALLEN of near Ottumwa, who until several years ago, resided about two miles northeast of Fairfield, died early this morning at his home following a stroke of paralysis he suffered yesterday morning. The remains will be brought to this city tomorrow and funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock from the Christian church in charge of Rev. R. H. Polly. Interment will take place in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. ALLEN is survived by his wife, who was formerly Miss Mary McWHIRTER, and by one son William ALLEN, who resides near Ottumwa.

Front Page, Column 6George E. ALLEN Funeral Held At Christian Church
The funeral services for George Espy ALLEN who died Tuesday morning at his home near Ottumwa, were held yesterday afternoon at 2 oclock from the Christian church. Rev. R. H. Polly conducted the services in the presence of many relatives and friends. Burial took place in Evergreen cemetery.
George Espy ALLEN was born January 12, 1852 at Crawford county, Penn., and died at his home south of Ottumwa, October 30, 1923, at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 18 days. He came with his parents, William and Premelia ALLEN in the year 1864 to Ft. Madison, Iowa. He was united with the Christian church early in life. He was married February 1, 1877 to Mary C. McWHIRTER of Fairfield, Ia., and to this union was born one son, John William ALLEN.
The family lived in the vicinity of Fairfield for a number of years until in 1920 they moved to their present home south of the city.
He is survived by his wife and son and one sister, Mrs. A. B. HOLLISTER of Long Beach, Calif., and one brother, B. A. ALLEN of Eugene City, Ore.
