Richard R. AIN, 76, 101 E. Fillmore Ave., died at 4:25 a.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 7, 1995, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA).

The service for Richard Raymond AIN, 76, 101 E. Fillmore Ave., who died at 4:25 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 1995, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Gates officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Open visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the First Christian Church Elevator Fund.
AIN was born Aug. 31, 1919, in Fairfield, the son of Carl Raymond and Sylvia Marguerite BRUDERS AIN. A lifelong resident of Fairfield, he graduated from Fairfield High School in 1937. On May 1, 1946 he married Irma Rose VANNATTA in Fairfield. She died Nov. 25, 1994. He was a chief warrant officer in the Iowa National Guard until his retirement in 1979. He was mobilized with the 34th Army Infantry Division, serving in World War II. He was recalled to active duty during Desert Shield-Desert Storm to work with the family assistance program. He was a member of First Christian Church, VFW Post 2271 and Fairfield Elks Lodge 1992.
Surviving are a daughter, Pamela Sue COTO of Galveston, Texas; A son, Steven Richard of Fairfield; three grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred PARKS of Fairfield. His parents preceded him in death.
