DEATH CLAIMS LOCAL WOMAN

Mrs. Lillie May ADAMS, 80, a resident of Fairfield since 1882, passed away late yesterday afternoon at the Jefferson county hospital. She had been in failing health since Christmas and seriously ill the past thee months. She entered the hospital as a patient on Monday.

Last rites will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Rev. S. P. Williamson in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Lillie May ADAMS was born April 29, 1869, at Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of the late Welcome F. and Elizabeth JUDD COX. She was united in marriage August 12, 1886 to Zophar H. ADAMS. Mr. ADAMS died March 13, 1907.

She is survived by the following children: Earl, Burlington; Mrs. Walter KINSMAN, Mrs. Bertha McMILLAN, John ADAMS and Mrs. Earl GOODWIN, all of Fairfield; Mrs. Morris GUSTAFSON, Davenport; Mrs. Julias BYRKIT, Fairfield; and Mrs. William MARSHALL, Nauvoo, Illinois.

She is also survived by two brothers, Luther COX, Fairfield, and David COX, Burlington; by three sisters, Rosa HAND, Burlington; Rena PARKS, Burlington; and Frances COX, Burlington; also 23 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. ADAMS was preceded in death by three children and one brother.
