John Q. ADAMS, 64, of the Grand Hotel, died yesterday about 7 p.m. of a coronary occlusion. ADAMS had lived about two years at the hotel where he was a night clerk. Chapel of Memories is in charge of arrangements.

Word has been received by relatives here of the death of John Q. ADAMS, former resident of Fairfield who died suddenly yesterday at Waterloo (note: in Black Hawk Co., IA). He died of a heart attack.
Private memorial services will be held Tuesday at the Chapel of Memories in Waterloo.
ADAMS, who lost a limb several years ago and walked with crutches, was a night clerk at a hotel in Waterloo at the time of his death.

The body of John Q. ADAMS, 64, of the Grand Hotel, has been taken to the University Hospital Anatomical Department at Iowa City in accordance with his will.
ADAMS died about 7 p.m. Saturday in his hotel room after a heart attack. He had lived here for the past three years and was employed as a clerk at the hotel. He previously lived in Fairfield.
Memorial services are planned at the Chapel of Memories at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Rev. David Moore, pastor of the Walnut Street Baptist Church, officiating.
ADAMS was born April 25, 1899, at Fairfield, the son of Zopher and Lillie COX ADAMS. On May 14, 1944, he married Thelma GARRISON at Fairfield.
He is survived by his widow; two sons, John and Danny, and one daughter, Mrs. Joyce Ann HALL, all of 915 Walnut St.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Dean HOOTMAN, of 313 Madison St., and Mrs. John SHERMAN, of Los Angeles; four sisters, Mrs. Arvel CULLEM and Mrs. Emil BARNETT, both of Fairfield, Mrs. Phillip GEORGE, of Blandenville, Ill., and Mrs. Morris GUSTOFOSON, of Davenport; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.

In a listing of burials at Evergreen Cemetery, John was noted as dying on April 13, 1965; perhaps this is a burial date once the Anatomical studies were completed. Interment was in Lot 1st.066.
