ACKERMAN Rites To Be Saturday

Last rites will be Saturday for Mary ACKERMAN, 84, former well known Fairfield resident who passed away Monday at Seattle, Wash., where she had made her home for the past few years.

The body will arrive in Fairfield Friday afternoon and will be taken to the Raymond funeral home.

Services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at the St. Mary Catholic church with the Rev. O. F. DeCoursey in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mary ACKERMAN was born in Fairfield on June 22, 1874, the daughter of the late Matthew and Barbara ACKERMAN. She was reared and educated in Fairfield and spent most of her life in this community. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic church.

For the past few years she had made her home with two nieces who reside in Seattle, Wash. Her death followed a prolonged illness.

She is survived by one sister, Mary Elizabeth ACKERMAN, Centerville, Ia.; and the following nieces and nephews, Mrs. Marie QUILLIAN, Mrs. Helen WHITMORE and Irene KENDRICK, Seattle, Wash.; George H. HAMMON, Fairfield; Richard D. HAMMON, Ottumwa; and Col. B. C. HAMMON, Ft. Smith, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother and a nephew, James HAMMON.

Rosary Tonight At Funeral Home

The Rosary will be recited at 9 p.m. this evening at the Raymond funeral home for Mary ACKERMAN, former resident of Fairfield who died Monday at Seattle, Wash.

Last rites will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Raymond funeral home with the Rev. O. F. DeCoursey in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Miss ACKERMAN, a native of Fairfield, made her home in this community all of her life until a few years ago when she went to Seattle to make her home with two nieces.
