OLD CITIZEN PASSED AWAY.
Mathew ACKERMAN, died at His Home This Mording (sic), Funeral Saturday

Mathew ACKERMAN, passed peacefully away at his home on East Adams street, in this city this morn ng (sic) at 3:10 o'clock. Deceased had been in ill health for several months past and the Death Angel came as a welcome release to his sufferings. Mr. ACKERMAN, had been a resident of Fairfield since the early sixties and was well known all over the county, He was a shoe-maker by trade and was with W. H. Dashman, for many years. His work was reco nized (sic) every where as being the best. Mr. ACKERMAN, has long been known here as the veteran shoe maker of Fairfield He is survived by a loving helpmate and five children, all of whom were with their father during his last hours on earth They are Ben, of Marhalltown (sic); Mrs. J. HAMMON, Lizzie, Mayme and Lillie of this city. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Mary's Catholic church.

Hosts of friends all over the country will deeply sympathize with the sorrowing relatives in their bereavement.

Death of Matthew (sic) ACKERMAN.

Matthew ACKERMAN, a resident of Fairfield since 1864, died at his home in this city Thursday, after a long and painful illness. Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic church Saturday morning, Rev. J. H. Hogan conducting them. Mr. ACKERMAN was born at Otterstadt, Rhenish-Bavaria, Germany, September 4th, 1836. He grew to manhood there, and was married to Barbara SCHAFER in May, 1864. A few months later the young couple started for America and came directly to this city, where they have since lived. The wife and five children survive the husband and father--Henry ACKERMAN of Marshalltown, Mrs. Jacob HAMMON, Elizabeth, Mary and Lillie ACKERMAN of this city. Mr. ACKERMAN was a man of industrious habits, and he commanded the respect of those who knew him.
