MRS. ACKERMAN PASSED AWAY.

Mrs. Barbara ACKERMAN, wife of the late Mathew ACKERMAN, died at the home of her daughter Mrs. John HAMMON on East Burlington street, Wednesday evening, April 8th, at 7:30 o'clock after an illness of four months.

Mrs. ACKERMAN was born at Otterstadt, in Rhenish, Bavaria, Germanay (sic) August 11th, 1834, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. SCHAEFER, and came to America with her husband in 1864, settling in Fairfield, Mr. ACKERMAN died about seven years ago (sic - in 1906).

She is survived by one son, Ben ACKERMAN of Marshalltown, Ia., and four daughters, Mrs. J. HAMMON and Miss Mary ACKERMAN of Fairfield, and Sister Elizabeth and Sister Bernard of St. Joseph's Convent at Ottumwa.

The funeral services will be held at St. Mary's church tomorrow morning at nine a.m. Burial will be in Evergreen cem tery. (sic)
