Last rites will be at West Chester, Iowa, for Mrs. Luella May HOLLOWAY, long - time resident of Fairfield who passed away Saturday at the Jefferson county hospital. She had been a patient at the hospital since July 9 when she fell and fractured a hip.
The services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the West Chester Federated church. The Rev. Arthur Peters will officiate and burial will be in the West Chester cemetery (note: in Washington Co., IA). The body is at the Jones funeral home in Washington.
Mrs. HOLLOWAY, 86, fell at her home, 501 W. Hempstead street, and fractured her hip on or about July 9. She was found on the floor by her daughter who had come to Fairfield to visit her mother. She has been a patient in the hospital since, and suffered a stroke about a week ago.
Mrs. Luella May HOLLOWAY was born Sept., 23, 1871, at West Chester, Iowa, the daughter of the late J. B. and Theodosia CLARK WALTON. She was married June 25, 1902, at West Chester to John HOLLOWAY who preceded her in death in 1931 (sic - 1937). She was a member of the Baptist church.
Mrs. HOLLOWAY is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Claude MACKLIN, Peoria, Ill.; one son, Willard HOLLOWAY, Colfax, Iowa; eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Harold PAUL, Muscatine, and Mrs. Effie CLEMENTS, Waterloo; and three brothers, Arthur WALTON, Muscatine; James WALTON, Oskaloosa, and John WALTON, Fall Brook, Calif.
