Private services were held at 2:00 this afternoon at the Behner Funeral Home for John Wesley HOLLOWAY, who died Saturday December 11, at 5:15 p.m.
Mr. HOLLOWAY was born in Rochester, Minn., September 13, 1865 and died in his home in Fairfield at the age of 72 years. He had been ill for several years, and bedfast since September.
A long-time resident of Fairfield Mr. HOLLOWAY had been a painter for over 25 years. His father was from England, his mother from Sweden.
His wife (sic - Luella 'Ella' May WALTON HOLLOWAY) is living at 501 W. Hempstead. Also living are a daughter, Mrs. Claude MACKLIN of Peoria, Ill., and a son, John W. HOLLOWAY, of Newton, Iowa.
Interment was in Wright cemetery, with Dr. M. A. Gable officiating.
Mr. HOLLOWAY worked in the Burlington shops for some time but failing health compelled him to give up this work. After that he worked some in the local factories but for the last four or five years has been practically an invalid. For the last year he has not been able to be away from the home and since June has been confined to the house.
