… John COX, an aged citizen of Hedrick and a brother of of (sic) the late Eli COX, was buried in the Wright cemetery Saturday afternoon. The remaihs (sic) was accompanied by his three sons and a neice (sic), Mrs. Thomas GRANT, of Ottumwa, who were guests over Sunday at the C. L. COX home. …

LOCAL MISCELLANY.

… John C. COX died at Hedrick the 15th (sic - 16th) inst. and the body was brought here Saturday for burial, interment being made in the Evergreen cemetery (sic - Wright Cemetery), with a short service at the grave.

The remains of John COX were brought here from Hedrick Saturday and taken out to Glasgow, where they were buried in the afternoon. He was formerly a Jefferson county resident and married Iowa CROY. He died Friday (note: Friday the 16th).

Note: Wife Iowa CROY COX died in 1925 and is buried with their son Henry B. COX in Mount Zion Cemetery in Keokuk Co., IA. This John C. COX is not to be confused with John W. COX, husband of Sarah J. TEMPLE, who also died in 1906, but is buried in Old Fairfield City Cemetery.
