Page 8, Column 6Rites Monday For Mrs. COX
Mrs. Alma COX, 87, long-time resident of Jefferson county, died at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Nelson Nursing home west of Fairfield. She had been ill the past six months.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Lutheran church with the Rev. Harold Kruger officiating. Burial will be in the Wright cemetery southeast of Fairfield in the area where Mrs. COX made her home for many years. The body will be taken from the Raymond funeral home to the church at 1 p.m. on the day of the services.
The former Alma SMITHBURG was born Oct. 17, 1874, at Four Corners in Jefferson county, the daughter of Gustoff and Christina ANDERSON SMITHBURG.
She was married to Frank COX on Oct. 12, 1906, who preceded his wife in death on March 25 (sic - 26th), 1925.
Mrs. COX was a member of the Lutheran church. She made her home on the family farm southeast of Fairfield until 1945 when she moved to Fairfield.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Hugh (Margaret) RIZOR, Fairfield; two granddaughters, Mrs. Frank CATHEY, Fairfield, and Doris RIZOR, Chicago; two great grandchildren, Cameron and Candyce CATHEY; one sister, Mrs. Minnie BROWER, Santa Monica, Calif.; and two brothers, Ralph SMITHBURG, Lockridge, and Walter SMITHBURG, Aneroid, Sask., Canada.
Mrs. COX was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters and two brothers.
