R. HUMPHREYS (sic - HUMPHREY), SELMA YOUTH DIED THURSDAY
Services to be Sunday afternoon for Mt. Zion church worker

Rollin B. HUMPHREYS, 23, widely-known youth in the Selma vicinity, passed away at noon Thursday at his home near Selma. His death was due to influenza and complications.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 oclock, at the Mt. Zion church, in charge of Rev. John W. Lathrop of Libertyville. Burial will be in the Winsell Chapel cemetery near the church.

Rollin HUMPHREYS was born at Bison, S. D. on November 3, 1917, the second son of William L. and Emma FINN HUMPHREYS. With his family, he moved to Iowa in 1934 and settled on a farm near Selma. He attended Selma high school from which he graduated in 1938 with high honors. He had been engaged in farming since completing his school work. Young HUMPHREYS was well known throughout the community, having been active in numerous phases of religious work. He was an exceptionally keen, and well-informed youth. He attended the Mt. Zion church regularly and was a Sunday School teacher there at the time of his death.

Surviving him are his father and stepmother, the former Jay CAMPBELL (sic - Anna J. CAMPBELL HUMPHREY, second wife of William), and two brothers, Clayton HUMPHREYS of Atkinson, Nebr, and Marion HUMPHREYS at home.
