Rebecca PAXSON was born near Pleasant Plain, Iowa, April 20, 1843, and has resided in that vicinity until her death which occurred April 8, 1911, at the age of 67 years 11 months and 18 days. She was united in marriage to Samuel MACY June 5, 1861. To this union were born nine children, four sons and five daughters, five of whom are living and were present at the funeral. The two eldest died in infancy and two others, William and Elmore, died in early childhood. Mrs. MACY has been a life long member of the Friends church, being a birthright member. She has lived a consistent christian life and by her many deeds of christian love has won her a large place in the hearts of all who know her. She has always been ready to help in times of sickness, feeling that a part of her work was to give assistance in times of need. Had she lived until June 15 she and her husband would have been married 50 years and they were looking forward to and planning for a golden wedding anniversary, but death has intervened and called her to her reward. She leaves behind her on the shores of time her husband, Samuel MACY, three sons, Oliver of Fairfield, Arthur of Allen. Neb., Milton of Oskaloosa; two daughters, Mary Eva HAMILTON, who with her family reside at the parental home, and Irilla MILLER of Pleasant Plain; also three brothers and two sisters, 17 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her loss.
