… Rebecca HODSON and daughter, Ona, are visiting relatives in and near Pleasant Plain.

Elizabeth HODSON, who has been sick for some time, is reported as no better.

Alson HODSON and family, of Fairfield, are hre (sic) to see Mr. HODSON's mother, who is quite sick.

EAST PLEASANT PLAIN.

… Elizabeth HODSON, who has been sick for several weeks at her home south of Pleasant Plain, died Thursday at 1 o'clock and was buried Saturday at 11 at the Friends cemetery, at Walnut. She leaves three sons to mourn her loss: Irwin and Jonothan, of Pleasant Plain, and Alson, of Fairfield, eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, besides other relatives and friends.

Rev. Hanson, of LaGrand, was called here Saturday to conduct the funeral services of Mrs. HODSON. …

Henry WOODS and wife, of Stockport, was called here Saturday by the death of his aunt, Mrs. HODSON.

Mrs. James F. HODSON

Elizabeth TOLBERT (sic - TALBERT) was born in the state of Ohio, August 18, 1834, departed this life May 16, 1912, at her home near Pleasant Plain. In infancy she moved with her parents to Hamilton county, Indiana and in the spring of 1847 to Jefferson County, Iowa, where they settled on a farm near Pleasant Plain. She was united in Marriage to James F. HODSON August 12, 1854, was left a widow by his death November 27, 1908. To this union were born three sons, Irvin and Jonathan of Pleasant Plain and Alson of Fairfield, all of whom were present to care for her in her last sickness. Besides her sons she leaves to mourn her loss eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild, one sister, Mrs. David EMRY, of Central City, Nebraska, and one brother, Richard TOLBERT (sic), of Walla Walla, Washington and many other relatives and friends. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. She was a life-long member of the Friends church. The funeral services were held at the Walnut church May 18, conducted by Rev. A. J. Hanson, of LeGrand, Iowa, assisted by Rev. Geo. A. Deshler, of Pleasant Plain. Interment in Walnut Creek cemetery by the side of her husband.
