Pleasant Plain Correspondent For The Ledger Died After Lingering IllnessMrs. Irwin HODSON, for a number of years Pleasant Plain correspondent for the Daily Ledger, died last night at the family home, a mile south of Pleasant Plain, as the result of an attack of the flu in February. She never recovered from the disease and for ten days had been critically ill.
Funeral services are in abeyance pending news from a son, A. L. HODSON who lives in Woodlake, Minn. Interment will be in the family lot at Walnut cemetery.
Mrs. HODSON was born near Fairfield March 27, 1861. She married Mr. HODSON in 1886. She is survived by the husband and three children, A. L. Frank and Edgar Raymond. A daughter, Mary, is dead.

Son Will Arrive From Minnesota For The Services At Pleasant PlainFuneral services for Mrs. Irwin HODSON who died at her home near Pleasant Plain Tuesday evening, will be held at the Friends church in Pleasant Plain Tuesday evening, will at 2:30 oclock and will be conducted by Rev. Viola Smith (sic). Interment will be in Walnut cemetery.
A. L. HODSON, a son, whose home is in Cottonwood, Minn., will be here for the rites, the funeral having been delayed until he could be reached. He was married the day before his mother's death at McGregor, Iowa, leaving on a honeymoon trip immediately. The radio was used to locate him.
Mrs. HODSON's maiden name was Flora DAVISSON and she was born in Jefferson County, Iowa, March 27, 1861. In 1886 she was united in marriage with Irwin HODSON who with their three sons survive. A daughter Mary died many years ago.
Besides the husband and three sons A. L., Frank and Raymond she is survived by four brothers and three sisters: Edgar of Hamburg, Ia., Scott of Pleasant Plain, Stoner of Richland, Guy of Fairfield, Mrs. I. HEISEL of Grinnell, Mrs. Kate SNOOK of Perlee, Mrs. Josephine DICKINSON of Brighton.

Flora DAVISSON oldest child of Edwin and Anna E. DAVISSON was born March 27, 1861 near Fairfield, Iowa and departed this life at her home near Pleasant Plain, June 23, 1925, aged 64 years, 2 months 26 days. On September 1, 1886 she was united in marriage with Irvin HODSON and since that time has made her home near Pleasant Plain. To this union were born, four children, Mary, Annual LeRoy, Frank Carlton and Edgar Raymond. Her husband and three sons are left to mourn her death, the daughter having preceded her mother to the better home. She is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Ingaba HEISEL of Grinnell; Mrs. Kate SNOOK, of Perlee and Mrs. Josephine DICKINSON of Brighton and four brothers, Edgar of Hamburg, Scott of Pleasant Plain, Stoner and Guy of Fairfield. Her parents, two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
She united with the Friends church at Walnut under the ministry of Abija Wooten. She remained a faithful worker in church and Sunday school until the last., She left the following of her chritian (sic) life.
I was converted at M. E. Prairie Chapel church, Feb. 13, 1878. My conversion was clear and I have never doubted it. Amidst the many temptations my trust has been in God, trusting his promises to take care of those who trust him. Rom. 8:28.
Received the blessing of the consecration at a meeting held by Edwin Loft, August 1884. Then I learned to live my life by faith. He satisfies my longings and his praises fill my heart. I love the letter my Father sent me O Precious Promises.
Funeral services were held at the Friends church in Pleasant Plain, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 and the body laid to rest beside the daughters in Walnut cemetery. The pall bearers were: Fred Wiggens, A. F. Wolfe, Frank Hoskins, W. F. Heston, Evert Coffin, Elmer Coffin.
