Mrs. Bertha HODSON Reported Seriously Ill, Home Of Daughter

PLEASANT PLAIN, June 27 -- Word has been received that Mrs. Bertha HODSON, a former resident of this vicinity, who now resides with her daughter and family Mr. and Mrs. Jim MORGAN of Brighton, is seriously ill.

BERTHA HODSON PASSED AWAY AT BRIGHTON
Funeral services to be Sunday at 2:00 p.m., burial near Pleasant Plain

Mrs. Bertha HODSON, 78, widow of Jonathan HODSON, died Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James MORGAN, in Brighton with whom she had lived for the past three and a half years. She had been in poor health for a number of years.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the MORGAN home at Brighton in charge of Rev. E. E. Voss. Burial will be in the Walnut cemetery south of Pleasant Plain.

Mrs. HODSON was born in the Richwoods vicinity June 3, 1864. She was the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth McMURRAY. She was united in marriage Dec. 7, 1884 and lived all of her life in the Pleasant Plain vicinity.

She is survived by two sons, James and Ross HODSON of Pleasant Plain; and two daughters, Mrs. Harold BROWN of Penbine (sic - Pembine), Wis., and Mrs. James MORGAN of Brighton. Nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Walter HOOK of Pleasant Plain also survive.

Her husband and one daughter preceded her in death several years ago.

Many From Pleasant Plain Vicinity Attend Bertha HODSON Last Rites

PLEASANT PLAIN, July 3--Mrs. Linnie Coll and Mrs. Jesse Pickering, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wiggins, Mr. James HODSON and his daughters Mary, Hazel and Nita, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Coffin and Elmer Coffin, Mrs. Raymond Kessel, Mrs. Lydia Nicholson, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hoskins, Ross and Frank HODSON of Pleasant Plain attended the funeral of Mrs. Bertha HODSON at Brighton.
