Supposed Drowning: Thos. HOCKETT, a butcher of our place, left home for Pleasant Plain on the 29th ult., and has not since been heard of. He was last seen near Walnut creek, in the north-eastern part of the county, and was told that he could not cross, as the creek was very high. He remarked that he could swim it, as he had to cross twice that evening. It is, therefore, very natural to suppose that he was drowned while attempting to cross. Mr. HOCKETT was about forty years old; is a heavy set man; dark complexion; gray eyes. He has a wife and five children in our town.
