David Alan Petersburg, 38, of Keosauqua, formerly of Hanlontown, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at the Immanuel-St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato, Minn., from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

The funeral will be at noon Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, 302 E. Fourth St., Hanlontown, with the Rev. Kris Snyder and the Rev. Linda Johnson officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Highway 122, Mason City.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 E. Spring St., Manly and at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Mr. Petersburg was born July 11, 1966, the son of Floyd and Marian Yoark Petersburg.

He was baptized in the Beaver Creek Lutheran Church and reaffirmed the faith of baptism through confirmation in the Grace Lutheran Church in Hanlontown.

He graduated from North Central High School in Manly. He later attended North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City, and Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls where he earned a degree in swine management.

Mr. Petersburg managed swine farms for several companies in Iowa and Indiana, including Iowa Select Farms, Heartland Park and Blackjack Pork. He had recently accepted a position with Christianson Farms to manage two farms in southern Minnesota.

He lived with his wife and three children on a farm near Keosauqua for the past three years.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends doing outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, biking and motorcycling.

Survivors include his wife Michelle Beal Petersburg of Keosauqua; three children, Zachariah, Allison and Madilyn, all of Keosauqua; his parents; one sister, Sharon Richardson of Coon Rapids; and three brothers, Fred Petersburg of Ventura, Brad Petersburg of Hanlontown, and Kevin Petersburg of Ankeny.
