Mrs. HAWK Dies

Mrs. Cora M. HAWK, 84, a longtime resident of Fairfield, died Friday at 2:10 p.m. at the Jefferson County Hospital.

Mrs. HAWK resided at 500 North B Street.

The body is at the Weston Behner Funeral Home. Last rites are pending.

Thursday Rites For Mrs. HAWK

Last rites for Mrs. Cora M. HAWK, 84, will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at the funeral home beginning Tuesday evening.

Mrs. HAWK, 500 North B St., died Friday at the Jefferson County Hospital after suffering a stroke the day before. She was a lifetime resident of Fairfield.

Service swill be conducted by the Rev. Wilson Hyde. Burial will be in Richwoods Cemetery.

Mrs. HAWK was born June 24, 1886 in Jefferson County, the daughter of George and Margaret GIFT BATES. She was married to Joseph S. HAWK March 20, 1907. He died Nov. 22, 1963.

Mrs. HAWK was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She is survived by three children: Palmer J. HAWK, Fairfield Route 3; Mrs. Louise MOREHOUSE, Chula Vista, Calif.; and Mrs. Dorothy CAREY, Iowa City.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Russell BATES, Fairfield; and one sister, Mrs. Bessie JOHNSON,, Peoria, Ill.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Family Here For Funeral

RANEY -- Mr. and Mrs. Charles MOORHOUSE of Chula Vista, Calif., and Mrs. Fred CARREY and Mrs. Jerry CARREY of Iowa City and Mr. and Mrs. Charles HAWK of Omaha were called here last week for funeral services for their mother and grandmother, Mrs. Cora M. HAWK. Mr. and Mrs. Charles HAWK have returned to Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. MOORHOUSE and Mrs. Fred CARREY have remained for a visit with their brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Palmer HAWK.
