LIVE NEWS FROM OVER THE COUNTY.

FOUR CORNERS
By Arthur Craff, Lockridge

… Mrs. George ALLENDER died at her home here about nine o'clock last Sunday morning, March 5, caused by heart failure. Mrs. ALLENDER was apparently in good health, except for an attack of the grippe. Mrs. ALLENDER was able to get up Sunday morning and was preparing dinner for the neighbors when death came.

Miss Jane MESSER was born in Henry county, about four or five miles north of Rome. She was sixty-eight years old. She leaves to mourn her death her husband, George ALLENDER, one son, Laurence, of near Lockridge, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.

She will be greatly missed by those who knew her, as she was always kind and motherly to everyone. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday from the White Oak church, northeast of Rome, and interment in the cemetery near by (note: in Henry Co., IA).

Lincoln MESSER, who was killed an automobile accident about two years ago, one mile east of Lockridge, was a brother.
