Virginia Nellie WALTERS, 88, former resident of Lockridge, died at 2 p.m. Monday at the Parkview Care Center.
Last rites will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Sloca will officiate and burial will be in Union Cemetery east of Fairfield.
Virginia WALTERS was born May 13, 1891, in Wayne County, the daughter of Frank H. and Frances Orpha PUMPHREY ELLINGSWORTH.
Her marriage to Ira WALTERS took place Dec. 10, 1925, in Fairfield. He preceded her in death Oct. 24, 1959. She was also preceded in death by one brother and a sister.
A member of New Sweden Methodist Church, she had been a resident of Lockridge from 1953 until the time she moved to the Parkview Care Center.
Mrs. WALTERS is survived by one son, Edward E., Seattle, Wash.; a daughter, Shirley Frances BITTLE, Mount Pleasant; and six grandchildren.
She is also survived by a brother, Franklin ELLINGSWORTH, Mount Vernon, Ill.; a stepson, George PAVLIS, Gardena, Calif.; and a stepsister, Loretta BAUGH, Cedar Rapids.
