Page Three, Column 5DELL PARSONS DIES TUESDAY
Dell PARSONS, 74 (sic - 72), well known Jefferson county farmer, died last night at 7:35 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ralph SWITZER, 601 west Stone street. Mr. PARSONS was injured when he fell from a haymow on January 23, then suffered a heart attack February 4. He entered the Jefferson county hospital three days later, and afterwards was taken to the home of his daughter where he passed away.
Silas Delmer PARSONS was born April 4, 1872 (sic - 1874), in Jefferson county, the son of Baldwin and Mary OVERHOLSER PARSONS. He lived his entire life in Jefferson county and was well known in the community.
He married Mary Elizabeth LIBLIN March 2, 1897. Mr. PARSONS was a member of IOOF No. 427 at Salina, and the Encampment Lodge No. 6 at Fairfield. He followed the farming occupation all his life and had lived on a farm nine miles northeast of Fairfield for the past several years.
Last rites will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Rev. S. P. Williamson in charge. Burial will be in Union cemetery south of Parsonsville.
Besides his wife, Mr. PARSONS is survived by four children: Nerva PARSONS, at home; Rollie, Mrs. Kenneth BARNETT and Mrs. Ralph SWITZER, all of Fairfield. Seven granddaughters and two grandsons also survive. He was the last of a family of seven children.
