MRS. HAYES PARSONS

Lucy Harriet LARIMER was born at Russell, Iowa, November 26, 1897. Her early life was spent in that locality until she came to Fairfield and entered Parsons college taking the full academic course and two years of collegiate course. After teaching one year, she was married to Hayes W. PARSONS, a college classmate, in Barhydt chapel, January 21, 1919, very soon after he was discharged from military service and came home at the close of the war.

They built and established a new home on a farm ten miles east of Fairfield. A home that gave every promise of being an ideal one in the the (sic) highest and holiest sense of the term.

Two children were born to bless and brighten this home, Harry W. born December 28, 1919, and Katherine Laval, born December 11, 1922.

Mrs. PARSONS died on Thursday, January 4, 1923. Beside her husband and children, she leaves to mourn her loss, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson LARIMER, one sister, Mrs. Grace SELLARS, and five brothers, George, John, Richard, Milton and Ben, she being the youngest of the family. Funeral services were held at the home, in charge of Rev. H. Sears Thomson, pastor of the Presbyterian church of Fairfield, and the body was buried in Union cemetery, near Glendale.

Her going was a great shock to her family and friends, who had so recently seen her so strong and vigorous and well. She was loved by all who knew her, for her sterling qualities of mind and heart. A devoted wife and mother, and a true helpmate, her chief interests centered in her home, and she was always happy and cheerful in her work; yet interested and helpful in every good work in the community in which she lived.

Modest in her manner, yet she had rare strength of mind and character, and our hearts go out to the bereaved husband whose home is left desolate and sad, and to all her family by whom she will be so sorely missed.
