Helen Elizabeth SHAFER GRAHAM

Helen Elizabeth SHAFER GRAHAM, 81, of Parkview Care Center, died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 1994, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA).

The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Lehmann officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery southeast of Fairfield. Visitation will be open starting Friday at Behner Funeral Home with the family present from 7 to 8 that night. A memorial has been established to First Lutheran Church, Handicap Fund.

Mrs. GRAHAM was born Jan. 21, 1913, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Eli Edward and Mae Louisa MILLER SHAFER. A lifelong resident of Jefferson County, she was reared and educated in the Richwoods community and had lived in Fairfield the past 32 years. She married Norval PARSONS on Dec. 26, 1939. He died March 1, 1962. In August 1971, she married Franz JOHNSON, who died in May 1972. On Nov. 1, 1975, she married Raymond GRAHAM. He died July 28, 1993. She was a homemaker and a member of First Lutheran Church.

Surviving are a brother, Edward SHAFER of Fairfield, two nieces and three nephews. An infant daughter, Aletha Mae and a sister, Eva CRAFF, preceded her in death.
