Pioneer Jefferson resident dies following lingering illnessGeorge PARSONS, 74, pioneer Jefferson county resident, passed away at 10 p.m. Wednesday at his home near Parsonsville, five miles east of Fairfield.
He was the son of the late Balden PARSONS and was born Oct. 28, 1964 north of Parsonsville. He had spent his entire life in the neighboring vicinity.
He is survived by two brothers, Truman and Dell and five children, Mrs. Will TULLER and Russell, Floyd, Norvel and Arthur. All live in this county.
Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Mr. PARSONS was converted into the Methodist church at Parsonsville in 1889 when the Rev. J. E. Wilkins was pastor.
He was married Feb. 25, 1892 to Miss Mary LIBLIN of near Salina. The couple moved immediately to the present PARSONS farm.
Mr. PARSONS had been in failing health for some time and seriously ill since Jan. 2.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Parsonsville church. Interment will be in Union cemetery. The body will be taken from Hoskins Funeral Home to the family residence this evening.
