Mary Agnes BROWN, wife of James M. HICKENBOTTOM, was born near Lockridge, September 10th, 1861, and died at her home in Lockridge May 11th. She was married to James M. HICKENBOTTOM March 17th, 1886. to this union were born three children, Mable, Matthew and Ralph, the former of whom died in November, 1888, at the age of five months. She leaves a husband, two sons, parents, two brothers and two sisters, besides many friends to mourn her departure. She had been a patient sufferer for many years. She united with the Free Baptist church in 1884 and lived a life devoted to her religious belief, being an active worker in church and Sunday school as long as health would permit. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. Tibbets of Ft. Madison, in the Free Baptist church, a large congregation of sympathizing friends being present, and interment made in the Union cemetery near Parsonsville.
