JOS. HICKENBOTTOM DEAD
Well Known Resident of Jefferson County Passed Away Tuesday Evening.

Many Fairfield people were shocked last night to learn of the sudden death of Joseph HICKENBOTTOM which occured about five o'clock at his home near Parsonville. Death came very suddenly and was a great shock to his relatives and friends.

Mr. HICKENBOTTOM had been ailing for a few days and Tuesday noon relatives were summoned to his side but his condition was not believed to be serious even at this time and it was only an hour or so before he died that relatives became alarmed about him. The cause of his death was heart failure.

Mr. HICKENBOTTOM was one of the few remaining pioneers of Jefferson county. He was born on the farm where he died and the foundation of the house in which he was born is still serving as a foundation for his home. The home was deeded to Mr. HICKENBOTTOM's father by the Government and has been in the family continuously ever since.

Mr. HICKENBOTTOM was 70 years old and is survived by his wife and two children Perry HICKENBOTTOM of Glendale and Mrs. H. M. MILLER of Fairfield, one sister, Mrs. Anna STARKEY of Denver, Col., and one brother Elisha HICKENBOTTOM of Centerville survive.

The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Parsonville church. Rev. T. S. Pool of Brighton will conduct the services.
