Connie JoAnne FINNEY was born Aug. 9, 1944, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Ernest and Betty COLLETT RASH. She grew up in the Ottumwa area and attended Ottumwa Community Schools. Connie began working at an early age to help support her family and her two children, Larry and Michael. She balanced being a mom with working as a supervisor at a local factory. Connie's path in life eventually led her to Wilson FINNEY. The two were married on Dec. 29, 1985, in Ottumwa, Iowa, beginning a journey that would last over 30 years. Connie and Wilson moved to Fairfield when Wilson began Finney Industrial Painting and then Finney Auto Body. She worked with Wilson on the business, handling the secretarial work in the office. Connie loved the outdoors and the views that nature had to offer. She would even join Wilson on a fishing adventure from time to time. She liked listening to piano music and whenever she was given the chance, a good long talk on the phone with family or friends. Connie was a member of the Living Hope Bible Church in Eldon, Iowa, and cared deeply for her church and her church family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; two siblings, Karla PALMER and Bill RASH; as well as a stepson, Edwin FINNEY; and a brother-in-law, Randy MABEUS.
