Jimmy "Jim" Lee BARKER, 81, of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019, at Jefferson County Health Center. Per his wishes, he has been cremated. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Behner Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Conwell officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery (note: in Birmingham, Van Buren Co., IA).

Memorials may be made to Maple Hill Cemetery or Jefferson County Public Health and mailed to John BARKER, 2286 Glasgow Rd., Fairfield, IA 52556.

Jim was born April 19, 1938, in Fairfield, to Fred and Elsie (FERGUSON) BARKER. Jim lived in the Fairfield area all his life. He was a retired farm hand. Jim loved being outside hunting, fishing, gardening and mowing the lawn. His inside interests were watching old TV westerns, playing cards and coloring. Most important to Jim was family gatherings and meals.

He will be missed by his siblings, John BARKER and Alice BARKER, both of Fairfield, Marie (Gale) CARTER of Hillsboro and Nancy (Douglas) OLDFIELD of Wellman; and a niece and nephew.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Elsie; two sisters, Martha and Mary Beth; and one brother, Jackie.
