Annette L. Benedict, 68, of Floris, died Saturday, April 23, 2005, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Montrose Cemetery in Montrose, with the Rev. Harry Miller officiating.

Open visitation began at noon today at Kremer Funeral Home in Eldon. Family will be present from 7-8 p.m.

Following her wishes, the casket will be closed.

A memorial fund has been established.

Mrs. Benedict was born July 7, 1936, in Keokuk, the daughter of Arthur and Florence Johnson Heston. She married Eugene Benedict Oct. 16, 1954, in Des Moines.

She was raised in Keokuk and attended Keokuk High School.

She lived in the Milton, Floris and Eldon areas for the last 30 years.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Benedict was a member of the Eagles Club in Fairfield.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Paul Benedict of Kalona, John Benedict of St. Anthony and Tim Benedict of Chillicothe; one sister, Doris Trout of Victor; one brother, Fred Heston of Nashville, Ill.; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
