Jerry F. COLE, Decatur, Dies

Word was received here this morning of the death of Jerry F. COLE, 32, native of Fairfield.

Reports received by relatives here said COLE was found dead in his apartment at Decatur, Ill., about 10:30 p.m. Monday. There has been no other word received concerning cause of death.

The body is being returned to the Weston Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield where last rites are pending.

Jerry F. COLE was the son of Floyd and the late Maxine ALLISON COLE. Floyd COLE is a patient in the Jefferson County Hospital for treatment of a back ailment.

In addition to his father, Jerry COLE is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Dick JOHNSON and Mrs. John GEVOCK, both of Fairfield; and his grandmother, Mrs. Charles ALLISON, who is also a patient at the Jefferson County Hospital.

COLE Rites On Thursday

Last rites for Jerry F. COLE, 31, Decatur, Ill., will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Bartruff officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

COLE, a native of Fairfield, died Jan. 2 at his apartment in Decatur. His wife, the former Susan WILLIAMS, was visiting her parents and his body was not found until Monday night. The coroner's report stated he died of natural causes.

COLE was born May 24, 1942, the son of Floyd and Maxine ALLISON COLE. He was a 1960 graduate of Fairfield High School. He also attended Parsons College for two years before receiving his degree at the University of Iowa. While in Fairfield, he was a band member of the 34th Army Band.

In addition to his widow, COLE is survived by one son, Jeffrey, 1; his father, Floyd COLE; two sisters, Mrs. Dick JOHNSON and Mrs. John GEVOCK; and his grandmother, Mrs. Charles ALLISON, all of Fairfield. His mother is deceased.

COLE Rites Postponed

Funeral services for Jerry F. COLE, 31, Decatur, Ill., have been postponed until Friday.

Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Bartruff officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Services were originally scheduled for today but they were postponed when Mrs. COLE was unable to reach Fairfield Wednesday night because of storm conditions.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7:30 to 9 o'clock.
