Glenn Ellis HELTERBRAN

Glenn Ellis HELTERBRAN, 86, of Hillsboro, died at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hillsboro Cemetery in Hillsboro, with the Rev. Dave Doerr officiating.

Family visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home.

Mr. HELTERBRAN was born Aug. 18, 1918, in rural Hillsboro, the son of Guy Clifton and Weltha Edith ROWE HELTERBRAN. He married Helen Pauline HOUSE Nov. 28, 1948, in the Hillsboro Baptist parsonage.

He graduated from Hillsboro High School and lived all his life in the community.

He was a farmer and mechanic at Park & Bonnett John Deere Store in Stockport. He also worked as a plumber and electrician with M. M. Doan of Hillsboro.

After retiring in the 1960s, Mr. HELTERBRAN was self-employed working odd jobs and rewinding motors until his health failed.

He was a member of the Hillsboro Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Eugene HELTERBRAN and wife Patsy SKAGGS of Keosauqua and Gary Glenn HELTERBRAN and wife Caroline of Hillsboro; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harry HELTERBRAN.
