Orr Early, 95, a retired rural mail carrier, died Wednesday in the Nelson Nursing Home at Fairfield, where he had been ill for the past three years.

The son of John C. and Susanne (McDaniel) Early, he was born in Aurora, IN on June 6, 1864, and since March 11, 1882, he had lived in or around Salem. Mr. and Mrs. Early predeceased him.

First married on June 13, 1889, to Clara Blackford, they had two sons, Paul and John, both deceased. Clara passed awway in 1924.

On June 8, 1929, he was married to Ida Hemming, who died in 1933.

His son, John, of his first marriage, was a county district engineer for the Iowa Highway Commission in Fairfield.

Mr. Early was a member of the Christian Church in Hillsboro, the city council, and for many years he was on the district school board.

Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Nora Dodds of Des Moines, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in the Christian Church at Hillsboro on Friday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m., with O. T. Wilson of Mt. Pleasant, officiating.

Burial will be in the Hillsboro cemetery.

His body is at the Waterman funeral home in Salem.
