ANDREW BOYD DIES SUDDENLY FROM STROKE
Well Known 'New Chicago' Business Man Summoned Last Night

Andrew J. BOYD, well known "New Chicago" business man, died last evening at 10 o'clock at his home, 516 South Depot street here. Mr. BOYD suffered a stroke. He was born in Fairfield and would have been 58 years old (sic - 59) this coming May 21st.

He leaves his wife and two sister (sic), the latter residing in California. Word is awaited from them before funeral arrangements will be completed. The body was taken to the Murray Funeral Home.

"Andy BOYD, as he was better known, was the son of Andrew J. BOYD and Mary MONROE BOUD. Mr. BOYD operated a general store in what is known as the "New Chicago" business district of Fairfield. His store is located near the "New Chicago Mission." Mr. BOYD also owned a number of properties in Fairfield and was very well known in this community.

Andrew J. BOYD Funeral Services Monday at 3 p.m.

Funeral service for Andrew J. BOYD will be held Monday afternoon at 3:00 oclock at the Murray Funeral home in this city. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. BOYD died Thursday at his home here following a stroke.

A. J. BOYD RITES HELD YESTERDAY AT MURRAY HOME

Funeral service were held (sic) Monday at the Murray Funeral home at 3:00 o'clock from Andrew J. BOYD. Rev. W. S. McLain, of Fairfield was in charge, and the burial was in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. BOYD, who was the son of Andrew J. and Mary M. BOYD was born in Fairfield May 21, 1875, and he attended school and college here. He died following a stroke on Jan. 4, 1934 at 10:00 p.m. and had been in business here for nearly 35 years.

He leaves his wife Mrs. Grace BOYD, and a son Raymond J. BOYD and two grandsons, Cloyce B. BOYD and Raymond J. Jr., of Burlington, Ia., He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Emma McCARTY and Mrs. Nellie BRACKETT of San Pedro Calif.
