On July 7th,1905 Mrs. Caroline Smith, the last charter member of the Swedish Lutheran Church, which was the first of it's kind to be organized west of the Mississippi River, passed peacefully away. She united with the church in 1849 and remained a devouted christian and faithful member. Mrs. Smith was 77 years of age. She is survived by 6 children, 28 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. All were present at the funeral except Alex of Alaska and Tilda of Mobile Alabama. The body was to be laid to rest Sunday afternoon.
