-Paid Obituary-

Stanley Gale McClellan, 53, of 306 Iowa Ave. Fairfield, Iowa, left us for a better place on Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at Jefferson County Hospital after a long battle with amyloidosis.

He was born on October 16, 1951, the son of Loren Gale and Refa Marie (Stanley) McClellan.

Stan lived most of his life in Fairfield and graduated from FHS with the Class of 1971 and worked for the Delta Airline in Chicago, IL. Stan was a self-employed carpet-layer, enjoyed carpentry, and helped his friends on their farms. He worked for Agri-Industrial Plastic Company before his illness. He married Rosie Tucker on July 15, 2000 in Fairfield, IA.

Stan was a member of B.P.O.E. #1192, V.F.W. Post #2271, Fairfield Eagles Lodge #1927, Walton Club and the First United Methodist Church of Fairfield, IA. He enjoyed each day of life to the fullest and found pleasure in the simplest of things. His many hobbies include hunting, fishing, golf, NASCAR and spending time with his family and friends.

A wonderful man, a friend to many. He will forever be remembered for his kindness, unconditional love, and eagerness to help others. Stan had such a great smile and one of the biggest hearts God ever created.

He is survived by: his wife, Rosie, of Fairfield, IA, his children: Heather and Michael Bice of Yokosuka, Japan, Heidi and Dan Sirdoreus of Des Moines, Iowa, Hollie McClellan and fiancé Nick Pfeiffer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Seth McClellan of Urbandale, Iowa. Stan was a grandfather to Grant Bice and was expecting another grandson on April 9th.

Also surviving are three step-children: Rick Tucker of Des Moines, Iowa, Christy Combs of Phoenix, Arizona, and Heather Tucker and fiancé Eric Beard of Fairfield, Iowa. Three step-grandchildren: Spencer Drish of Phoenix, Arizona, Hannah Combs of Phoenix, Arizona, and Tyler Tucker of Des Moines.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Refa McClellan.

Family visitation will be held 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 19, 2005 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, Iowa. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with Rev. Dave Peterson officiating. A gathering for friends and family with follow at the Walton Club in Fairfield. The body will be cremated.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Fairfield Central Park Holiday Lights Fund, or to the Walton Club memorial in Stan's name.
