PLEASANT PLAIN -- Joseph C. SUPALLA, retired postmaster at Pleasant Plain, died suddenly at 12:15 a.m. today at his home in Pleasant Plain. His death was caused by a heart attack.
The body is at the Gould Funeral Home in Brighton where last rites are pending.
Joseph Clement SUPALLA, 66, was born Feb. 5, 1903, the son of William and Frances DRISH SUPALLA. He was married June 4, 1932, to Mabel Clara McCLINTIC.
He had lived his entire life in Jefferson County except for a few years when he lived in California. He served as postmaster at Pleasant Plain for 34 years until his retirement in August, 1968. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church at East Pleaant Plain.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Donald PECK, Brighton; Richard, Chicago; Gary, Columbia, Mo.; also ten grandchildren; two brothers, Anthony, Pleasant Plain, and Steven, Rochester, N.Y.
Four sisters also survive. They are Mrs. Agnes WITTMER, Fairfield; Mrs. Glenn McCLAIN, Fairfield; Mrs. Ben HESS, Washington; and Mrs. Mary WEHR, Council Bluffs.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister.
