SHELANGOSKI Rites Pending

EAST PLEASANT PLAIN -- Pete SHELANGOSKI, 94, died this morning at 8:30 at the Shenk Rest Home at Wellman after a lingering illness.

The body is at the Gould Funeral Home in Brighton, where arrangements are pending.

SHELANGOSKI was born June 26, 1877 near East Pleasant Plain, the son of Anthony and Comstein (sic - Constance) SHELANGOSKI. He was employed for 18 years by the Jefferson County Road Department and spent the rest of the time farming in the area.

Surviving are a son, Hubert of Carbon Cliff, Ill., and a daughter, Mrs. Barbara MEEK of Davenport.

Last Rites For SHELANGOSKI, 94

EAST PLEASANT PLAIN -- Funeral services for Pete SHELANGOSKI, 94, who died Tuesday at the Shenk Rest Home in Wellman, will be held Thursday at 10 a.m., at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain. The Rev. Paul C. Wetzstein will officiate and burial will be in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery.

The rosary will be recited tonight at 7:30 p.m., at the Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.

He was married on Sept. 19, 1899 to Stella ZMYSLONY. She died Aug. 31, 1941.

Besides his children, Hubert of Carbon Cliff, Ill., and a daughter, Mrs. Barbara MEEK of Davenport, he is survived by 20 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by three half-brothers, Steve SHELANGOSKI of Lockridge; Vince SHELANGOSKI of East Pleasant Plain and Bernard SHELANGOSKI of Mount Pleasant and two half-sisters, Agnes and Celesta SHELANGOSKI of Brighton.
