V. SHELANGOSKI dead

BRIGHTON -- Vincent R. SHELANGOSKI, 83, East Pleasant Plain, was dead on arrival at Jefferson County Hospital Monday evening.

The rosary will be recited Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton. The service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in East Pleasant Plain with the Rev. Louis Leonhardt officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

The son of Anthony and Constance GLUCH SHELANGOSKI, he was born June 28, 1896 in Walnut Township, Jefferson County. He married Margaret ROGAL May 18, 1926. She died Oct. 29, 1979.

He is survived by two daughters, Dorothy SHELANGOSKI, Chicago, and Laurine TOWNSEND, Blakesburg; six grandchildren; two brothers, Steve SHELANGOSKI and Bernard SHELANGOSKI, both of Mount Pleasant; and one sister, Agnes SHELANGOSKI, rural Brighton.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, five brothers, three sisters, five half-brothers and two half-sisters.

He was a longtime Jefferson County employee and farmer and lived all his life in the Pleasant Plain area. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Polishville Cemetery Association and Brighton American Legion.
