Local Woman Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Lena E. SHELANGOSKI, 83, died suddenly about 6 a.m. today at her home at 206 W. Grimes. She had been in her usual health.

Services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in charge of Father Walter Helm. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at East Pleasant Plain.

Prayers for a Christian Wake will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home.

Mrs. SHELANGOSKI was born June 27, 1886 at Wellman, the daughter of Edward and Margaret DESING FLORANG. She was married to Ignatius C. SHELANGOSKI Feb. 6, 1912 at Riverside. He died May 28, 1952.

The couple farmed in the Riverside, Washington and Fairfield areas for many years.

Mrs. SHELANGOSKI is survived by five children: Robert of Brighton, Clifford of Birmingham, Lloyd of Davenport, Mrs. Isadore DEUTSCH Jr. of East Pleasant Plain and Mrs. Joe LAHR of Jefferson City, Mo. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. SHELANGOSKI was a member of St. Mary Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters and two grandchildren.
