Walter F. PECK Taken In Death

PLEASANT PLAIN, Ia. -- Walter Frank PECK, 63, life-time resident of the Pleasant Plain community, died at 5 a.m. today at the Jefferson county hospital in Fairfield. He had been in ill health the past 10 years and seriously ill the past week.

Last rites will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic church in East Pleasant Plain with the Rev. Henry B. Geers in charge. Burial
will be in the St. Joseph cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at the Gould funeral home in Brighton at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Walter Frank PECK, 63, was born Sept. 19, 1898, near Pleasant Plain, the son of Adam and Mary PACHA PECK. He was reared and educated in the Pleasant Plain community and was engaged in farming.

He was married Nov. 24, 1927, to Myra KURTZ, who survives. Other survivors include two sons, Larry PECK, Trenton, Mo.; and Donald PECK, Pleasant Plain; five grandchildren; four brothers, Ed PECK, Pleasant Plain; Ambrose and Clem PECK, both of Fairfield; Ray PECK, Salt Lake City, Utah; and one sister, Mrs. Irene POWERS, Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
