KURTZ Funeral To Be Wednesday

PACKWOOD -- Lawrence KURTZ, 34, Packwood, died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Veterans Hospital in Knoxville.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph Catholc Church in East Pleasant Plain with Father Francis Bass as Celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

The Rosary will be recited at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Lawrence KURTZ was born Feb. 8, 1934, near Pleasant Plain, the son of Gerald and Emma LEDGER KURTZ. He was reared and educated in the Packwood Community.

He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, a farmer and a veteran of the Army Secret Service from 1954-1957.

KURTZ is survived by his mother, Mrs. Emma KURTZ, Fairfield; one sister, Mrs. Stanley WARD, Ottumwa; one brother, Herman KURTZ, Fairfield; and a number of nieces and nephews. His father passed away in 1964.
