Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 9:30 in the St. Joseph's Catholic church in East Pleasant Plain for Joseph T. KURTZ, 69, prominent Jefferson county farmer, who passed away Monday at 7 p.m. after a lingering illness. The Rev. P. C. Wetzstein will be in charge. Burial will be in East Pleasant Plain in St. Joseph's cemetery.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Bernetta and Paul at home; and Mrs. Cleo KRON and Bertha of Burlington; a brother, Walter, of near East Pleasant Plain; two sisters, Mrs. Harriet KASKA of Fairfield and Mrs. William SPINHARNEY of Los Angeles, Calif.
Joseph KURTZ, son of Joseph and Bertha RAPPENECKER KURTZ, was born near Germanville, Iowa on February 27, 1876. He attended the rural schools near Germanville and later attended the Pleasant Plain academy. He was married on April 12, 1910 to Veronica FRITZ and their entire married life was spent on their farm near Pleasant Plain.
