KURTZ Rites To Be Wednesday

Mrs. Peter H. KURTZ, native of Jefferson county, passed away early this morning at the Curtis Nursing home. Her home is at Pleasant Plain.

Her death came at 6:20 a.m. after an illness of nine years. She had been a patient at the nursing home for the past seven years.

Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic church in East Pleasant Plain. Burial will be in the cemetery nearby. The body is at the Hoskins funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Anna Magdalene KURTZ, 75, was born Aug. 30, 1877, in Jefferson county. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary BENDA PACHA.

She was united in marriage to Peter H. KURTZ who preceded her in death. Mrs. KURTZ was a member of the Catholic church.

She is survived by the following children: B. Mae KURTZ, Iowa City; J. G. KURTZ, Pleasant Plain; Mrs. William J. HYAK, Iowa City; Victor KURTZ, Greenfield, Ind., and Mrs. Betty DURST, St. Louis.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Frank, Joe, John, Albert, Martha PACHA, and Mrs. Mary YATES, all of the Pleasant Plain community.
