Last rites for Matt J. KNOPP, father of Mrs. Leonard GREENFIELD, Fairfield, will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic church in East Pleasant Plain with Rev. Father Paul C. Wetzstein in charge.
Mr. KNOPP, 70, passed away Friday evening about 8:30 at his home in Fairmont, Minnesota, after an illness of several months. He was a former resident of East Pleasant Plain.
The Rosary will be recited this evening at 8:00 p.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home. Rev. Father H. M. Thoman will read mass.
Mr. KNOPP was born April 14, 1876, in Germany. He had been a resident of this county for many years.
Besides his wife (?), he is survived by the following children, Mrs. GREENFIELD, Fairfield; Mrs. Pauline MAHAFFEY (sic - who was formerly married to Frank BANACH), Ottumwa; Mrs. Bernice MACKINNON, Cincinnati; Mrs. Angeline SCHOO, also of Cincinnati; Clarence KNOPP, Fairmont, Minnesota; and Leonard KNOPP, serving in the U. S. Maritime Service.
Mr. KNOPP is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Joe FRANZEN, Washington, Iowa, and three grandchildren. Two sons preceded him in death.
