William KESSLER, 78, Dies in Brighton Home

BRIGHTON -- William Andrew KESSLER, 78, died in his home here at 11:15 p.m. Thursday. He had been in his usual good health until about 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday from the St. Joseph's church in East Pleasant Plain with Father Paul C. Whetzstein (sic) in charge. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The Omar Hoskins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements with the Rosary service to be spoken there at 8:30 p.m. tonight.

Mr. KESSLER was born Oct. 8, 1872, in Marion county, Iowa. He was maried (sic) Oct. 17, 1894, to Caroline KONARD who died June 13, 1902 (sic - Jan. 3, 1902 on her gravestone). He later married on May 24, 1905, to Anna LEAR. They lived on a farm near East Pleasant Plain and moved to Washington a number of years ago. She died Oct. 31, 1947.

Survivors include Arthur, Hillsboro, Ia.; Albert in Nebraska; Andrew and William, both of South Dakota; Joe, of Minnesota and one daughter, Mary, of Milo, Ia. Twenty grandchildren and one great grandchild survives. One sister lives at Lacona, Ia. An infant son preceded him in death.
