Brighton Woman Dies After Long Illness

Mrs. William KESSLER, 61, of Brighton, passed away at 4:15 p.m. yesterday at the Washington county hospital, where she has been for the past six weeks. Mrs. KESSLER had been in poor health for the past 8 months.

She was the former Anna LEAR, daugther (sic) of Mr. and Mrs. Peter LEAR, born at Afton, Iowa, April 10, 1886 (sic - Nov. 10, 1886, on her gravestone). She married William KESSLER in May 1905. She was a former resident of East Pleasant Plain and lived on a farm near Perlee before moving to Brighton in 1935.

Mrs. KESSLER is survived by her husband, William KESSLER, a son Arthur KESSLER of Columbus Junction and five step children, Albert KESSLER of Omaha, Neb.; Andrew KESSLER of Artesia, S.D.; William KESSLER of Howard, S.D.; Joe KESSLER of Bovey, Minn., and Mrs. Mary WADLE of Milo; also many grandchildren.

One son preceded her in death.

Tentative plans for the funeral have been set for Monday at 10 a.m. at the St. Josephs church at East Pleasant Plain and burial will be there.
