JOHN J. GEVOCH (sic) RITES THURSDAY
From St. Joseph's Church At East Pleasant Plain; Died Tuesday

The last rites for John Joseph GEVOCK of East Pleasant Plain were held Thursday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Joseph's Catholic church at that place, Rev. H. Kopinginski was the celebrant of the mass and Rev. J. H. Courtney preached the sermon. Sic (sic - six) brothers acted as pallbearers. Interment was in the St. Joseph cemetery.

As a mark of respect to his only son Lawrence, who is a member of the graduating class, the entire graduating class and the superintendent attended the funeral.

Mr. GEVOCK passed away Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock after a short illness from the flu and other complications at the age of 43 years.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas GEVOCK of East Pleasant Plain and was born at that place. He was married to Miss Josephine KREGOSKI, who passed away nearly ten years ago (sic - in December, 1918). Two children were born to them, Lawrence and Josephine, the latter of whom died seven years ago of diptheria (sic).

Mr. GEVOCK was one of the former owners of the Gevock-Singleton Button factory. The past year he has been working in Muscatine as a button cutter.
