Mary GEVOCK dies at 76

WASHINGTON -- Mary B. GEVOCK, 76, of 634 W. Main, Washington, died Thursday at the Washington County Hospital. She had been seriously ill for six months.

Funeral services will be held at the St. James Catholic Church in Washington Monday at 1 o'clock with the Rev. Edward J. Shepherd officiating. Interment will be in East Pleasant Plain Cemetery (sic - St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, East Pleasant Plain). Christian Wake will be held Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Sherman-Eden Funeral Home in Washington.

Mary GEVOCK was born February 8, 1904 in Jefferson County, the daughter of Joseph and Johanna KNOPP FRANZEN. She was reared and educated in Jefferson County. September 10, 1924 she was married to Vince A. GEVOCK at East Pleasant Plain. She was a member of the St. James Catholic Church. She lived in the Pleasant Plain community most of her life, moving to Washington in 1967.

Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Bernard Arlene SCHMITT, Washington, and one son, George GEVOCK of Brighton; 9 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a brother, Leo FRANZEN and one sister, Gertrude FRANZEN, both of Washington.

She was preceded by her husband December 8, 1958; four brothers, one sister and two grandchildren.
